Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Chemistry
- Master’s degree with a Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences or equivalent in Chemistry discipline, with no lower than 60 percent marks overall (50 percent to SC/ST).
- Valid GATE score for 2022/2023/2024 on Chemistry (CY).
Civil Engineering
- A Bachelor’s degree from a school of Engineering or Technology or equivalent, with at least 60% marks overall (50 percent to be SC/ST).
- Valid GATE score for 2022/2023/2024 for Civil Engineering (CE).
Electrical Engineering
- Master’s Degree with a major in Engineering or Technology or equivalent, with at least 60% marks aggregate (50 percent in SC/ST).
- GATE valid score of 2022/2023/2024 on Electrical Engineering (EE).
Age Limit
The age limit for candidates is 30 from the date of the last day of the application, i.e. 15 August 2024. Age relaxation can be accessed in accordance with the norms of the government:
- For SC/ST applicants: 05 Years
- For OBC applicants: 03 Years
- To be considered for PwBD (UR) Candidates: 10 Years
- To be considered for PwBD (SC/ST) Candidates: 15 Years
- for PwBD (OBC) applicants: 13 Years

Selection Process
The method of selection will include the following steps:
Shortlisting Based on GATE Score
- Candidates will be selected for interviews on the basis of their GATE scores valid for 2022, 2023 or 2024.
- If there is an unofficial tie, the candidate who has the highest percentile is given the upper hand. If the tie is not resolved the candidate with the higher percentile is given the upper hand.
Personal Interview
- The candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted to an interview.
- The proportion of applicants to vacant positions will be in accordance with BIS rules for recruitment.

Final Merit List
- The final choice will be based on the 85 percent weightage of GATE score, and 15 percent weightage of marks from the interview.
- If there is an aggregate score tie candidates who has a better GATE score is given the upper hand. If the tie continues the candidate with the higher score is given the upper hand.
