SSC GD Selection Process 2025
In accordance with the Staff Selection Commission, the SSC GD Selection Process comprises various stages, as follows:
Computer-Based Exam (CBE)
CBE CBE is the first step in the SSC GD Constable recruitment process. It consists of a standardized multiple-choice test that is divided into four sections that test the candidate’s general understanding and abilities.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The PET examines the physical fitness through a variety of tasks. The tasks are designed to ensure that applicants are physically fit enough required for the position. The test is vital to assess physical endurance and endurance.
Physical Standard Test (PST)
The PST includes assessing the physical characteristics of candidates like chest, height and weight. The PST makes sure that the candidates have the physical traits required to perform the challenging job of an GD Constable.
Medical Examination (ME)

SSC GD Physical Test
The board has outlined a series of physical tests that applicants must pass. Candidates must pass the following physical standards to pass the Physical Standard Test to qualify for the GD Constable job. This Physical Standard Test is applicable to female and male candidates.
SSC GD Physical Standard Test (PST)
For Males:
- Size: 170 cm for Gen/SC/OBC category candidates. 162.5 centimeters for ST category candidates.
- Chest 20 cm, with 5 centimeter expansion available for candidates in Gen/SC/OBC category and 76cm and 5cm expansions in the case of ST category candidates
For Females:
- High: 150 cm in Gen/SC/OBC categories for candidates, and 150cm for ST category candidates.
SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Male Candidates:
- 5km race duration: 24 minutes
- 1.6 km race: 8.5 minutes (Ladakh region)
Female Candidates:
- 1.6 Kilometer race 8.5 minutes
- 800 meters race: 4 minutes (Ladakh region)
SSC GD Constable Medical Examination
Candidates who pass passing the SSC GD Constable PET and PST rounds will be required to take an examination for medical reasons. The medical exam is conducted by the medical panel established by CAPF. Candidates’ physical and medical health will be evaluated and their vision. After a thorough examination of the documents Candidates will be deemed qualified for the SSC Constable GD post.
Visual Acuity Unaided
Colour Vision: CP-2
Near Vision N6 is for more sighted eye as well as N9 to the weaker eye
Distant Vision 6/6 is for best eye, and 6/9 for the less-skilled eye
Correction of the visual sense Any kind or form of visual correction are prohibited even with glasses.
