RBI Assistant 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invites applications every year from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant. The selection process includes a country-wide competitive examination in two phases: Preliminary and Main examinations, followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

RBI Assistant 2024 Post Details 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be between 20 and 28 years old. Age relaxation is provided for various categories including SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and others.

Pay Scale and Benefits: Selected applicants will start with a base salary of ₹20,700 per month, with gross pay of around ₹47,849. Additional benefits include rent allowance, bank accommodation, medical cover, interest-free advances and promotion opportunities.

RBI Assistant 2024 Examination Scheme

Preliminary Examination: The test consists of three sections (English language, numerical skills and logical reasoning) with a total of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.

Main Examination: The test comprises five sections (logical reasoning, English language, numerical reasoning, general knowledge and computer skills) with a total of 200 questions to be answered in 135 minutes.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates who are shortlisted for the main examination will take this test in the official language of the respective country.

RBI Assistant Application Fees

  • SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: ₹50 plus 18% GST
  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹450 plus 18% GST
  • RBI Staff: No fees

Selection Process for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2024

The selection process for the RBI Assistant-2024 involves three main stages:

Preliminary Examination:

Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Sections and Marks:

  • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks

Duration: 60 minutes (20 minutes for each section)

Main Examination:

Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Test of Reasoning: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Test of English Language: 40 questions, 40 marks

Duration: 135 minutes (varying durations for each section)

Language Proficiency Test (LPT):

To assess the candidate’s proficiency in the Official/Local Language of the State concerned.

Candidates can apply online through the link provided on the RBI website by following the instructions to upload the required documents and pay the application fee. It is important to check the validity of the email ID used for application as the bank may send communications through this address.   • Visit the RBI website and find the “Recruitment for the post of Assistant – 2024” link.
  • Register by entering basic details, which generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
  • Use the “SAVE AND NEXT” feature to fill in and review the application form.
  • Upload the required documents (photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and hand-written declaration).
